FG Drops Bombshell List Of Civil Service Test Candidates — Did You Make It

The Federal Government has moved into the next phase of its ongoing recruitment into the Federal Civil Service, with a number of applicants already shortlisted to participate in a Computer-Based Test (CBT).

This development follows a January 2025 call for applications by the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC), which advertised over 70 job categories spanning multiple ministries, departments, and agencies.

The official announcement, signed by Ogaba Ede, Director of Recruitment and Appointment at the Commission, invited qualified Nigerians to apply for various roles through the designated recruitment portal.

Some of the advertised positions include:

• Administrative Officer

• Planning Officer

• Programme Analyst

• Procurement Officer

• Senior Computer Engineer

• Dentist/Dental Officer

• Medical Laboratory Scientist

• Education Officer

• Population Programme Officer

• Senior Youth Development Officer

• Psychologist

• Biomedical Engineer

• Surveyor

• Aerodrome Engineer

• Geologist

• Foreign Affairs Officer

Although the recruitment drive generated significant public interest, numerous applicants initially faced technical issues accessing the portal, prompting the Commission to extend the application deadline from March 10 to March 17.

Amid rumours that the process had stalled, FCSC’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Taiwo Hassan, confirmed to Punch that screening is actively ongoing.

“We haven’t gone silent or suspended the recruitment process. Work has been ongoing behind the scenes,” Hassan stated.

He also clarified that shortlisted applicants have been notified via email and given details of their CBT venue and preferred test location.

“It’s incorrect to say applicants haven’t been contacted. We have already selected candidates from the pool of submissions. Those are the ones sitting for the CBT,” he added.

While the Commission has yet to disclose the number of shortlisted individuals, it had previously announced 2,130 vacancies across the Federal Civil Service.
