FG Sets Monday As Public Holiday Nationwide

The Federal Government has declared Monday, September 16th, 2024, as a public holiday to celebrate Eid-ul-Mawlid, which commemorates the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.

According to Naija News, this announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement released on Friday.

In his statement, the Minister extended his congratulations to Muslims both in Nigeria and abroad. He encouraged the Muslim community, as well as all Nigerians, to embrace the values of patience, sacrifice, and resilience during this festive period.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, conveyed that Dr. Tunji-Ojo also urged the Muslim Ummah to seize this opportunity to pray for lasting peace and a more prosperous and equitable nation.
