Nigerian music star Adedamola Adefolahan, popularly known as Fireboy DML, has opened up about the tough times he faced before rising to fame, revealing that he once came close to selling rechargeable lamps under a bridge in Lagos.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In an emotional interview on the ‘90s Baby Show’ in London—shared via Instagram on Saturday—the Peru hitmaker offered fans an honest glimpse into his life before his breakthrough under Olamide’s YBNL Nation label.

Fireboy recalled a moment when he seriously considered starting a small lamp-selling business just to survive.

“Thank God for that (Olamide signing me). I was thinking of selling rechargeable lamps. I met this guy under Ajah Bridge who told me about the business, and I told him I was interested,” he revealed.

Although deeply passionate about music, Fireboy explained that the harsh realities of life forced him to consider other means of livelihood.

“At the time, it felt more dignified. At least people would say you sell lamps. But selling pepper soup? That’s wild, bro. My parents didn’t even know I was doing menial jobs. It was a tough time, but now we thank God,” he added.

His fortunes changed in 2018 when a single WhatsApp message became the turning point that led to his signing with YBNL—a move that launched his successful music career.
