Nigeria Bleeds While APC Praises Itself – Rhodes-Vivour Dismantles Tinubu’s Security Narrative

Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the 2023 Labour Party gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State, has taken a swipe at the All Progressives Congress (APC), strongly criticizing the ruling party over Nigeria’s worsening security situation.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In a statement released through his media office on Sunday, Rhodes-Vivour asserted that under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, the country has witnessed a disturbing surge in violence and insecurity, with little to no effective government response.
He argued that the current security climate is even more alarming than it was during former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration. According to him, the Tinubu-led government has shown a glaring lack of urgency or commitment in addressing the crisis or ensuring justice by apprehending perpetrators.
The Labour Party stalwart further alleged that President Tinubu and his allies are more focused on strategizing for the 2027 elections than delivering good governance, while the nation suffers.
“The Media Office of Chief Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, former LP governorship candidate in Lagos, categorically rejects the APC government’s recent claims of improved national security under Tinubu. These claims are entirely disconnected from the harsh daily realities faced by Nigerians, who are grappling with rampant violence and unchecked criminality,” the statement read.
“The irony is hard to miss — the same APC that relentlessly attacked Goodluck Jonathan over security failures is now overseeing a country where even high-ranking officials are not safe. Just recently, the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, had his vehicle stolen in broad daylight in Abuja, while the APC’s national secretariat was forced to shut down after the tragic murder of its Director of Administration, Hon. AbdulRauf Adekunle Adeniji, who had been held captive for weeks.”
“May his soul rest in peace.”
The statement continued by highlighting brutal attacks across the country, citing the killing spree in Uromi, Edo State, and the recurring massacres in Plateau State. Rhodes-Vivour lamented the government’s passive stance, pointing to the lack of arrests or credible action.
“All the Tinubu administration seems to care about is the 2027 elections. It’s disheartening to see so much energy invested in political maneuvering and so little in actual governance.”
“For them, democracy begins and ends with elections. It’s clear they urgently need a lesson in what democratic governance truly means.”
Rhodes-Vivour also accused the Nigeria Police Force of becoming increasingly politicized, claiming it has turned into a willing instrument for political manipulation rather than a neutral law enforcement agency.
