An employee of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) met a tragic end in Maitama, Abuja. Khalid Bichi fell victim to unidentified gunmen on Friday night, as per reports obtained by Naija News.

The incident unfolded while Bichi, described as a middle-aged man, was out for dinner. Moments before 9 pm, he was mercilessly shot multiple times by assailants. Rushed to Maitama General Hospital, his life could not be saved, with his death confirmed upon arrival.

Bichi was an active figure on social media, known by the handle @Khalid Bichi, and maintained ties with influential figures in politics.

Today, a funeral prayer will be conducted at Abuja National Mosque, followed by his interment at 1:30 pm, according to the report.

In a separate incident, Naija News previously reported on the abduction of thirteen individuals in Piko, a remote community in the Bwari Area Council of Abuja. The attack occurred without resistance, lasting for approximately an hour. Notably, Chief John Jatau, the Madaki of Piko, confirmed the abduction of ten locals, including four nomadic Fulani herdsmen.

One of the abducted Fulani herdsmen managed to escape, while the kidnappers have demanded a ransom of N900 million Naira for the release of the captives. Those still held captive include Nuhu Anyiwoyi, Emmanuel Nuhu, Danjuma Ali, Parisa Numa, Ezekiel Jatau, Shekwosa Ezekiel, Roseline Samuel, Salome Jacob, Abyelo Ezra, and Ezra Male.
