Nigeria’s Flamingos have been crowned champions of the 2026 WAFU B U-17 Girls’ Cup after completing a perfect campaign with a commanding 4-0 victory over Togo in the final.

The triumph at the Lycée Scientifique pitch in Yamoussoukro on Sunday saw Akeem Busari’s side finish the tournament with five wins from five matches, scoring 17 goals and conceding just two.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Nigeria took control of the final in the 15th minute after Kemi Adegbuyi was brought down inside the penalty area to earn a spot-kick. Captain Chidera Harmony stepped up and confidently converted to give the Flamingos the lead.

Adegbuyi was involved again about 20 minutes later when Nigeria were awarded another penalty after Togo conceded a second spot-kick.

Togo managed to keep Nigeria from extending the lead for more than 20 minutes after the restart, but the Flamingos eventually found a third goal in the 67th minute.

Sixteen-year-old striker Oluebube Umejiaku produced one of the highlights of the final when she unleashed an effort from outside the box that caught the Togolese goalkeeper off guard and extended Nigeria’s advantage to 3-0.

Adegbuyi, who had played a key role in winning both penalties, capped her impressive performance by getting on the scoresheet late in the match to complete the 4-0 victory.

The result completed a dominant tournament for the Flamingos, who began their campaign with a 5-0 victory over Niger before defeating Ghana 4-2.

Nigeria then recorded consecutive 2-0 victories over Burkina Faso and Côte d’Ivoire before overcoming Togo in the final.

The Flamingos’ perfect record saw them score 17 goals while conceding only two throughout the competition.
