Former Commissioner Expresses Disappointment In Governor Wike’s LeadershipFormer Rivers State Commissioner for Information, Austin Tam-George, has urged the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to focus on his responsibilities and stop interfering in the governance of Rivers State. During an appearance on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Monday, Tam-George expressed his disappointment in Wike, accusing him of trying to destabilize the state instead of concentrating on his ministerial role.

“I’m very disappointed in what the minister is doing. He’s orchestrating this and initiating processes to destabilize the state,” Tam-George said. He further criticized Wike for neglecting his duties in the FCT, where urgent reforms in areas like public education are needed.

Tam-George emphasized, “Wike has a clear administrative mandate in the FCT, which has some of the worst public schools in Nigeria. Instead of focusing on delivering services in the capital, he’s targeting Rivers State, and the people will resist him.”

He concluded by urging Wike to step back and let Governor Fubara focus on improving governance in Rivers State.
