Former Kogi Governor Bello Applauds Tinubu, Says He Deserves Praise For Oyo Pupils’ Rescue

Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has praised President Bola Tinubu for what he described as the Federal Government’s growing success in addressing insecurity, citing recent security operations in Kogi and Oyo states as evidence that ongoing reforms are yielding results.

Bello made the remarks on Friday after meeting with the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, at the Office of the National Security Adviser in Abuja.

In a statement released by his media office, the former governor applauded the government’s intelligence-driven security strategy, saying it had contributed to the successful prevention of an attempted abduction of schoolchildren in Kogi State as well as the rescue of kidnapped pupils in Oyo State.

He commended President Tinubu and the NSA for their roles in strengthening security operations, noting that the failed kidnapping attempt in Kogi reflected the Federal Government’s continued support for the state.

“I want to commend President Bola Tinubu for his unwavering commitment to tackling insecurity across the country,” Bello said.

He added that the operation highlighted the growing effectiveness of security agencies through improved intelligence gathering, coordination and inter-agency collaboration.

According to Bello, the professionalism and vigilance displayed by security operatives demonstrate that intelligence-led operations are producing encouraging outcomes in the fight against crime.

The former governor also lauded Ribadu for providing strategic leadership and fostering stronger cooperation among the nation’s security and intelligence agencies, which he said has improved their ability to respond swiftly to emerging threats.

Speaking on the recent rescue of abducted schoolchildren in Oyo State, Bello described the operation as another indication of the Tinubu administration’s determination to safeguard the lives and property of Nigerians.

He congratulated President Tinubu, Ribadu and the various security agencies involved in the mission for securing the safe release of the victims, while also paying tribute to officers who lost their lives during the operation.

According to him, the sacrifices made by fallen security personnel reflect their dedication and commitment to protecting the nation.

In his response, Ribadu thanked Bello for the visit and stressed that combating insecurity requires the collective support of government institutions, security agencies and citizens alike.

“The issue of insecurity concerns every Nigerian. If we all contribute our quota from our respective positions, we will overcome these challenges,” the NSA said.

Bello further urged Nigerians to support security agencies by remaining vigilant and providing credible information that could aid intelligence gathering and security operations.

He expressed confidence that the administration’s ongoing security reforms, coupled with stronger collaboration among security agencies, would enhance efforts to tackle terrorism, kidnapping, banditry and other forms of violent crime while laying the foundation for lasting peace and national development.
