Fayose is currently facing prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged involvement in N6.9 billion money laundering, along with his firm, Spotless Investment Limited.

Testifying as an EFCC witness, Obanikoro informed the court that the money was transported in two batches from Lagos.

He disclosed that Fayose had inquired about a message from ONSA before the Ekiti State election, and upon confirmation, N2.2 billion was deposited into Sylvan Mcnamara Ltd’s account.

Obanikoro clarified that he did not know the source of the funds, emphasizing that only the NSA could explain its origin.

He mentioned delivering N1.219 million in cash to Agbele for onward transmission to Fayose, denying claims of taking any money or N19 million, contrary to online reports.

Regarding Sylvan Mcnamara Ltd, Obanikoro explained that the account was created to address Boko Haram issues in Lagos and was later used for election fund disbursement.

The funds were airlifted in two tranches from Lagos, necessitating the use of two aircraft, with Obanikoro present in one of them, along with his ADC, security orderly, and a top aide of Fayose.
