Former Nigerian Football Star, Ibrahim Babangida, Passes Away

Former Super Eagles star Ibrahim Babangida has tragically passed away in a car accident along the Kaduna-Zaria road. Reports indicate that the accident also involved his brother, Tijani, Tijani’s wife, son, and maid. While Ibrahim lost his life in the accident, the others are currently receiving treatment in the hospital.

Tijani, who serves as the president of the Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria (PFAN), was involved in the accident alongside Ibrahim. A statement by PFAN’s General Secretary, Emmanuel Babayaro, confirmed Ibrahim’s passing and called for prayers for Tijani’s recovery.

In another unfortunate incident, Mike Ode, a commander of the agro-ranger unit of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), was killed by suspected bandits in Shaapera community, Benue state. The NSCDC confirmed the tragic incident, stating that despite the loss, they remain committed to their duty of ensuring security for law-abiding citizens in the state.
