After a meeting with President Tinubu at the state house on Tuesday, Jonathan stated that as the head of the ECOWAS mediation team for Mali and the chair of the West African elders’ forum, he is mandated to discuss “issues bordering on the continent and the subregion” with the Nigerian president.

Jonathan expressed his intention to come every week, as Nigeria’s ECOWAS leadership presents an opportunity to address the various challenges faced in the sub-region.
