Founding Members Of Lagos PDP Align With Jandor To Revive Party
The PRIMROSE Movement, made up of founding members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, has joined forces with Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adedirans (Jandor), the party’s 2023 governorship candidate, to revitalize the party. Mr. Gbenga Ogunleye, spokesperson for Jandor, announced this development in a statement to the News Agency of Nigeria, noting that the PDP has faced significant leadership challenges at both the national level and in various states, including Lagos.

Ogunleye mentioned that the movement participated in establishing the Lagos PDP Elders Council, which aims to provide guidance for the party in the state. On October 26, the movement, alongside other influential party elders, formed this council, tasked with steering the party’s direction.

The council appointed Chief Taiwo Kuye as coordinator and Mr. Shamsudeen Arobieke as administrative secretary. Other notable elders, including Chief Okanlawon Oshoba, Alhaji Arilesere, Pa Shakiru Oladunjoye, and Alhaji Kareem Mohammed, will serve as trustees.

Ogunleye added that the elders are committed to reviving the vision of the PDP’s founding fathers in Lagos and emphasized Sarumi and Chief Stephen Bakare’s dedication to paving a winning path for the party in future elections.
