During the operation, eight suspects were apprehended with substances suspected to be hard drugs, leading to the obstruction of the road by other miscreants. These individuals demanded the release of their cohorts, resulting in an assault on the officers. The officers promptly called for reinforcement, enabling them to successfully move the suspects and seized exhibits to the station.

Upon further investigations at the station, it was determined that four out of the eight arrested individuals were not involved in the reported activities. Consequently, they were released, while the remaining four—Afolabi Joshua, aged 24; Isaiah Omogbolahan, aged 25; Oluwadamilare Kayode, aged 38; and Friday Anamaliu, aged 40—were arraigned on March 1, 2024, at Ejigbo Magistrate Court. The statement from SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson of the command, emphasized that claims circulating on social media suggesting the suspects were arrested for playing Ludo game are entirely false. Hundeyin denounced such misinformation, attributing it to miscreants who managed to escape, attempting to alter the narrative and divert attention from the actual issues.
