Lagos State Police Command Detectives Arrest Professional Make-Up Artist and Three Others for Staging Fake Kidnapping

In a recent development, the Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a professional make-up artist, Margret Itodo, alongside three accomplices, for orchestrating a hoax kidnapping.

The other individuals involved in the scheme have been identified as Agnes Ogbeh, Esther Anyanwu, and Anthony Chinakwe. Reports indicate that the group collaborated to simulate the kidnapping of Agnes Ogbeh.

According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, the incident unfolded when Agnes Ogbeh, a resident of Akure, Ondo State, visited Lagos and allegedly fell victim to a staged abduction.

SP Hundeyin disclosed the details of the case via a post on his official handle, stating, “The family in Akure received a distressing video featuring Agnes and another individual bound, silenced, and appearing to be in distress, with traces of blood evident. The ‘kidnappers’ demanded a ransom of Five Million Naira for Agnes’s safe release.”

Promptly responding to the complaint, detectives initiated a meticulous investigation into the matter. Their efforts led them to the hideout where Agnes, the other individual depicted in the video, and two additional accomplices were discovered residing freely.

Further inquiry uncovered Margret Itodo’s involvement as a professional make-up artist hired to create the illusion of authenticity in the video. All four suspects have confessed to their roles in the scheme and will face charges upon the conclusion of the investigation.
