Adejobi shared this message on his official social media page on Tuesday.

He stated, “If a police officer forcefully confiscates or inspects your phone or electronic devices, please report it. This behavior is inappropriate and unprofessional.”

He clarified, “Police officers may only examine your phone when it is part of an ongoing investigation and has been formally designated as evidence. Such actions should not be carried out on the street.”

Adejobi emphasized that any police officer conducting phone searches on the road is acting against established protocols, violating the orders of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), and contravening the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Such officers should face appropriate disciplinary action.”
