FPRO: Severe Consequences Await Motorists Who Abduct Policemen During Traffic Checks

The Nigeria Police Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has issued a stern warning to drivers involved in abducting policemen and other law enforcement officers during traffic enforcement activities.

Adejobi emphasized that such actions are unlawful and unacceptable, stressing that motorists must comply with officers’ instructions without resorting to resistance or driving away. He highlighted these concerns in a recent video statement shared via NPF X, urging drivers to adhere to traffic regulations and cooperate with law enforcement officials.

Addressing incidents where officers are forcefully taken away by drivers after issuing traffic violations, Adejobi underscored the dangers and legal repercussions associated with such behavior. He emphasized the importance of reporting misconduct through proper channels rather than taking matters into one’s own hands.

Furthermore, Adejobi called for mutual respect between road users and law enforcement personnel, urging compliance with directives issued during traffic stops to maintain safety and uphold the rule of law.

The FPRO concluded by appealing for unity and adherence to legal standards among all citizens, emphasizing that any form of aggression or misconduct towards law enforcement officers undermines national integrity and constitutes a punishable offence.
