Fr Mbaka Reveals Shocking Eye Ordeal: ‘Doctors Declared Me Legally Blind, Yet I Could See’

Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, founder of Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria (AMEN), has claimed that doctors once declared him legally blind despite his ability to see, read and move around without assistance.

The Catholic priest made the disclosure while recounting his experience during medical examinations at the Passion Center, where he said specialists discovered that the condition of both his eyes had deteriorated to what they described as the fifth or sixth level of blindness.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Mbaka said he underwent extensive ophthalmological examinations following years of stress and sleeplessness. He explained that the tests were conducted using modern medical equipment and produced results that reportedly surprised the doctors.

According to the cleric, the medical team initially found it difficult to understand how he could function normally despite the severity of the condition detected in his eyes.

Mbaka recalled that the doctors initially assumed that members of the Ayanwu family had brought him to the facility because he was blind. He said he surprised them by explaining that he had arrived on his own.

He further recounted that the doctors expressed disbelief when he opened his Bible and read from it without assistance.

Mbaka said the doctors reportedly told him that it was medically and scientifically difficult to explain how someone whose eyes had deteriorated to such a level could still see and read normally.

The priest said the medical findings were subsequently forwarded to Los Angeles-based Dr Chiogbu Chukwu and, through another doctor identified as Dr Scott, the condition was reportedly confirmed.

Mbaka described his experience as a miracle, saying he could not personally explain how he retained his ability to see despite the medical findings presented to him.

He said, “What then do you call miracle? I’m a beneficiary. I can now join you to give testimony.”

The cleric, however, stressed that his experience should not encourage people to abandon conventional medical treatment in favour of prayer alone.

Mbaka urged his followers to seek professional medical advice whenever they are sick, noting that he believes both medical and spiritual approaches can play a role in healing.

“I will always ask you if you are sick. Don’t neglect the medical advice. Do not rely only on prayers. God created those people that are doctors,” he said.

He added that he believes in medical treatment while also accepting spiritual healing, stressing that whatever means through which healing occurs, the glory should be given to God.
