Obe made the allegation during an appearance on Arise Television on Tuesday.

The Ondo APC has been embroiled in internal disputes following the outcome of its recent primary elections.

Several aspirants loyal to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who failed to secure the party’s tickets in the National Assembly primaries, have approached the court to challenge the exercise.

The aggrieved aspirants are contesting the conduct of the primaries, naming the APC National Working Committee (NWC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in their suit over the results and the list of candidates submitted by the party.

Commenting on the crisis during the interview, Obe alleged that Tunji-Ojo played a central role in the divisions within the party.

According to him, the Interior Minister is aligned with a faction opposed to Governor Aiyedatiwa and enjoys the backing of the APC National Chairman.

He said, “There is a clear political divide within the Ondo APC. While disagreements are not unusual in politics, there should be fairness and balance.

“Without mincing words, the Minister of Interior is behind the crisis in the Ondo APC. He belongs to the opposing camp and is not on the governor’s side. Most of the other stakeholders are aligned with him.
