Fresh Cabinet Shake-Up Hits Edo As Okpebholo Reassigns Four Commissioners

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has redeployed four commissioners to different ministries as part of a fresh adjustment to his cabinet, with the changes taking effect immediately.

The Secretary to the Edo State Government, Musa Ikhilor, announced the development in a statement on Saturday, explaining that the decision was aimed at strengthening governance, improving service delivery and enhancing efficiency in the administration of the state.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the latest development represents the second minor cabinet reshuffle carried out by Governor Okpebholo since assuming office.

Under the new arrangement, Felix Ehiguese Akhabue, who previously served as Commissioner for Water Resources, has been transferred to the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.

His counterpart, Barrister Vincent Osas Uwadiae, who previously headed the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, has been moved to the Ministry of Water Resources.

In another change, Andrew Momodu has been redeployed from the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy to the Ministry of Oil and Gas Resources.

Prof. Omorodion Ikponmwosa, who previously supervised the Ministry of Oil and Gas Resources, will now oversee the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.

The state government said the redeployments took effect immediately and were designed to further strengthen the administration’s effectiveness in delivering its programmes.

Ikhilor urged the affected commissioners to bring their experience and expertise to bear in their new portfolios while remaining committed to the government’s development agenda.

“The Executive Governor enjoins the affected Commissioners to bring their wealth of experience and expertise to bear in their respective new portfolios and to remain committed to the Administration’s SHINE Agenda for the sustainable development of Edo State,” the statement said.
