The Bauchi governor was accompanied on the visit by leaders of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), including the party’s National Chairman, Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, and its governorship candidate, Yakubu Adamu.
Speaking with journalists after the meeting, Governor Mohammed said the delegation visited Makinde to express sympathy with him and the people of Oyo State over the abduction of teachers and pupils in the Yawota and Esiele communities of Oriire Local Government Area by bandits.
He praised Makinde’s efforts in securing the release of the abducted victims, expressing confidence that they would soon regain their freedom.
Mohammed explained that his visit was also on behalf of the government and people of Bauchi State to show solidarity with Oyo State and encourage ongoing efforts aimed at rescuing those affected.
He said, “I am here with leaders of the Allied People’s Movement to commiserate with our presidential candidate and the Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, over the challenges facing the state following the abduction of school children and their teachers.
“This has been an ongoing concern for some time, and we share in their pain.
“We are here to encourage him, as his efforts to secure their release are being recognised nationwide.
“On behalf of myself, the government, and the people of Bauchi State, we express our solidarity and urge continued efforts to ensure these Nigerians are safely released.”
