The father of the late Nigerian singer, Mohbad, Joseph Aloba, has urged the Lagos State government to initiate criminal proceedings against his daughter-in-law, Omowunmi (Wunmi), auxiliary nurse Feyisayo Ogedengbe, and other individuals indicted in the coroner’s inquest into his son’s death.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, after receiving an injection administered by Ogedengbe. He was buried the following day, but following public outrage and ongoing investigations, his body was exhumed on September 21, 2023, for an autopsy.

In May 2024, the autopsy report revealed that the cause of death could not be determined due to the body’s decomposition. However, in July 2025, the coroner, Magistrate Taofikat Adeayo Shotobi, indicted Ogedengbe for unlawful medical practice and gross negligence, and faulted Wunmi for negligence in the medical care sought for the late singer. Other individuals present at the time of his death were also implicated.

In a letter dated October 3 and addressed to the Lagos State Attorney General, Aloba’s legal team demanded that criminal charges be filed against those indicted within 14 days. He expressed concern that despite the coroner’s clear verdict, no legal action had been taken nearly three months after the judgment.

The letter emphasized that the Attorney General should either exercise prosecutorial powers within the given timeframe or grant Aloba and his legal team fiat to prosecute the matter on behalf of the state.

It partly reads:
“Persons indicted by the coroner’s verdict include: Miss Ogedengbe Fisayo, for unlawful medical practice and gross medical negligence; and Mrs. Omowunmi Aloba, for negligence. Also implicated are Ibrahim Owodunni, a.k.a. Prime Boy, and others who either facilitated the auxiliary nurse’s involvement or failed to take Mohbad promptly to a recognized medical facility.

“Our client, a bereaved father seeking justice, is deeply troubled that despite the coroner’s findings delivered on July 11, 2025, no prosecutorial steps have been taken against those indicted. The observations amount to clear indictments that warrant immediate prosecution to give full effect to the coroner’s recommendations and ensure justice is served.”
