Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, has alleged that a “pull-down-Ned” syndicate is exploiting his ongoing marital issues with his wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, to damage his reputation.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a statement issued on Monday by his Communication and Technical Action Team in Abuja, Nwoko claimed that certain individuals who have long targeted him are now using the situation to portray him negatively before the international community.

“Beyond this, the narrative about me grabbing land in my hometown is both false and unfortunate. I was genuinely allocated land—after due payment—for the establishment of the University of Sports, which today benefits the community,” Nwoko said.

He lamented that progress-minded individuals are often vilified within their own communities, saying, “Sadly, that is the difference between us and other ethnic groups.”

The Senator further alleged that some individuals were taking advantage of “a young woman who is unwell and has admitted to drug use.”

According to him, “Those exploiting her fragile state to settle old scores—knowing they have no case against me—will eventually face justice. They should also beware of the defamatory statements they are spreading, as they will have to substantiate them.”

Nwoko claimed that Regina Daniels had a documented history of substance abuse, which could be confirmed through medical records and in court.

“The world has read her own confessions about drug use, and even her former schoolmates have testified that she and her sister dropped out due to drug-related issues. Yet, people continue to push false narratives to destroy my name,” he stated.

He described the ongoing allegations as “fabricated stories amounting to criminal defamation,” insisting that those behind them “will one day have to prove their claims.”

Addressing the controversy over the timeline of his marriage, Nwoko clarified: “Regina Daniels was born on October 10, 2000. If she has been married for six years, then she was 19 at the time—not 17.”

He added that her family publicly gave her away in marriage, and her mother personally brought her to him.

“Our customs permit polygamy. I married her honorably, gave her a name, and treated her with respect,” he said.

Describing his relationship with Regina as loving and transparent, Nwoko noted that she was at the center of his world. “I cared deeply for her—something everyone who knows me can attest to. It is disheartening to read the filth being spread online,” he remarked.

He concluded that the attacks against him are politically motivated: “Regina has become the weak link my enemies are exploiting. My marriage is now being twisted into a tool for political blackmail. This witch-hunt aims to discredit my achievements and halt my progress as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
