Shehu Sani Warns Nigerians With Revoked US Visas: ‘Return Home Before Arrest

In a post on on Monday, Sani cautioned affected Nigerians and other Africans to leave the US before they risk arrest by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). He emphasized that no matter how comfortable life may seem abroad, it is not truly their home.
“Nigerians and other Africans whose visas were recently revoked by President Trump should promptly leave the country and return home before facing arrest by ICE… No matter how long you enjoy the comforts of an adopted home, one day you will be reminded it is not your father’s house,” Sani wrote.
The warning follows the US State Department’s recent revocation of over 80,000 visas, including those of Nigerians, as part of a broad immigration enforcement initiative. Announced on Thursday, November 6, 2025, the action was described by the administration as a move to strengthen border security and align with its national security priorities, under the slogan “promises made, promises kept.”
