Echikunwoke, a Nigerian-American hammer thrower, had previously competed for Nigeria in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics but was disqualified due to missed doping screenings caused by an administrative error. She later switched her allegiance to the USA and recently won a Silver medal in the hammer throw at the Paris Olympics.
