Governor Bala made this statement on Thursday during a meeting with Obi at the State’s Presidential Lodge. He highlighted that their discussion focused on the challenges facing the country, praising Obi for his dedicated leadership in the opposition.

He emphasized the need for opposition parties and politicians to unite in order to ensure effective governance. “We talked about the challenges each state is facing, and I deeply appreciate what Peter Obi is doing as the leader of the opposition. Whether we like it or not, he is the current leader of the opposition in Nigeria. I want to make it clear to those who might have doubts or ill intentions that I am ready to work with Peter Obi. Together, we will unite, close ranks, and bring good governance to this country. We aim to create a vibrant, knowledgeable opposition with clear timelines and visions to help rescue and recover Nigeria. Our collaboration sends a powerful message, and this message will resonate, as all our colleagues, including the PDP governors, support this transformative effort. We are working together regardless of party, region, religion, or any other divisive factors,” he said.

On his part, Obi explained that his visit to the Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum was aimed at discussing issues affecting the northern part of Nigeria. He stressed the importance of addressing the widespread poverty and hardship in the country.

“This is just a consultation meeting, and the discussions will continue as we work towards the future of this country. The North is a key region if we are to succeed. There is poverty in Nigeria, and until we address poverty, we cannot talk about solving criminality,” Obi stated.
