Fubara Issues Stern Warning: Sabotage Of Government Will Not Be Tolerated

Governor Fubara expressed his determination to ensure the smooth progress of the project during an inspection of the construction site along the Obiri-Ikwerre-Airport Road opposite OPM Headquarters in Ohio/Akpor Local Government Area. Reports of threats from some community members to disrupt construction activities prompted the governor to address the issue.

Accompanied by Mustapha Njie, the MD/CEO of TAF Africa Global overseeing the project, Governor Fubara questioned the rationale behind the threats and criticized saboteurs for not using proper channels to address their grievances with the government.

In a statement released by his media aide, Boniface Onyedi, the governor emphasized the importance of the housing initiative and reaffirmed his commitment to protecting the project from any disruption. He underscored the administration’s focus on providing essential services and improving the welfare of Rivers State residents.

Governor Fubara stated, “I am also aware that some of the community people are coming up with issues. But let it be clear, we didn’t jump into this land; we did all the due diligence that we needed to do. We took our time to check the land.”

“It is a property that belongs to the Rivers State Government under the Greater Port Harcourt City Development Authority. We are not taking anybody’s land. However, if you feel that there is an encroachment, you should know the right authority to visit.”

The governor warned against disrupting the project, considering it as sabotage to his government. He stressed the importance of peace for development but emphasized that he would not tolerate anyone disrupting the ongoing construction.

Governor Fubara commended the contractor for the progress made, highlighting the transformation of the site from a bush to a significant number of buildings in a short time. He concluded by echoing the president’s sentiments on the importance of providing every Nigerian with a decent home.
