Blessing: It was a bit challenging, but not overwhelmingly so. Diligent study played a crucial role in overcoming the difficulties.

Blessing: Given my time constraints as a single mother managing both academics and a business, I adopted a smart study approach. I attended classes when possible, paid attention to lecturers’ focus areas, and extensively studied past questions to understand exam patterns. This method allowed me to concentrate on essential course aspects and efficiently manage my time.

Blessing: Balancing academics, motherhood, and business required a well-structured study plan. I made efforts to attend classes, relied on past questions, and tailored my study sessions accordingly. This approach not only optimized my study time but also allowed for a balance with other aspects of my life.

Blessing: Discovering my pregnancy in my second year left me confused. While facing pressure to abort from my ex-boyfriend, I opted for a condonation form to temporarily leave school. Eventually, I confided in my Head of Department about my situation, who supported me financially and encouraged me to continue my education.

Blessing: The lack of support from my child’s father was challenging, but I decided to rely on my own strength. Despite my family’s limited capacity to assist, I managed with the help of people around me. I took on menial jobs, including working as a cleaner and later assisting my landlady in her shop.

Blessing: Entrepreneurship wasn’t new to me; I had engaged in various businesses before starting my popcorn business in October 2022. Juggling academics, motherhood, and business became manageable since I was accustomed to working while studying. I focused on producing popcorn for events, allowing me to balance my time effectively.

Blessing: Initially, my primary goal was to attend school and uplift my family’s situation. Achieving a first-class became a goal in my 100 level, and despite challenges, I persevered. The support I received from an administrative staff member who helped with my baby’s care motivated me to strive for academic excellence.
