Ganduje Breaks Silence: Ex-APC Chairman Unveils First Big Political Move

On Thursday, Ganduje met behind closed doors with Kano APC stakeholders in Abuja to strategise on strengthening the party’s structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The meeting drew notable attendees, including Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau, Senator Kawu Sumaila, members of the House of Representatives, and other party stalwarts.

In his address, Ganduje called on members to mobilise support for the ongoing voter registration exercise.
He said: “Let’s encourage our people to register. So far, we are doing very well, and we want to assure the people of Kano State that our members will register in large numbers, so that when the time comes, we will emerge victorious.”

Deputy Senate President Barau also reaffirmed Kano APC’s support for President Bola Tinubu, noting: “What the President is doing and what he has done for our nation, we are fully behind him. We have never asked for anything from him that he has not delivered, including institutions of learning and development projects.”

Stakeholders at the meeting pledged to reclaim Kano State from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), which currently governs under Governor Abba Yusuf.

Ganduje, who resigned as APC National Chairman on June 27 citing “urgent personal matters,” had in his resignation letter expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve at the party’s highest level.
