Ganduje Faces Bribery And Fund Misuse Probe Despite Political Role, Says Agency Chair
The Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), Muhuyi Rimingado, has confirmed that former Kano Governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Abdullahi Ganduje, remains under prosecution for alleged bribery, misappropriation, and diversion of public funds.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Appearing on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Monday, Rimingado reiterated that the case against Ganduje is ongoing despite challenges. Addressing whether his own recent arrest would affect the prosecution, Rimingado stated: “Yes, we are prosecuting him directly. This investigation began in 2021, and despite facing numerous obstacles, including arrest, detention, assault, and humiliation, I resumed the case upon my return. This is not a witch-hunt.”
The case, which includes an eight-count charge against Ganduje for alleged bribery and mismanagement of billions of naira, is set to resume on February 13, 2025, at a Kano State High Court. The prosecution is being pursued by the Kano State Government.
The defendants in the case also include Ganduje’s wife, Hafsat Umar, and others such as Abubakar Bawuro, Umar Abdullahi Umar, Jibrilla Muhammad, Lamash Properties Limited, Safari Textiles Limited, and Lasage General Enterprises Limited.
