Speaking to journalists after the closed-door meeting held in Abuja, Uzodinma clarified that no final decision has been made regarding who will succeed Abdullahi Ganduje as the APC National Chairman.

He emphasized that ongoing consultations are still in progress and that the ultimate decision will be made by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC).

“It would be premature for anyone to speculate at this point. Consultations are still ongoing,” Uzodinma stated.

He further explained that the Wednesday meeting was part of the governors’ routine strategy sessions to align on party policies and strengthen governance under the APC.

“This meeting was part of our regular consultations among governors and key stakeholders aimed at strengthening the party’s programmes and ensuring effective governance as the ruling party,” he added.

Uzodinma also disclosed that the governors intend to meet with President Bola Tinubu ahead of the NEC session scheduled for Thursday.

“Tomorrow by 2 p.m., the NEC of our great party will convene to discuss matters crucial to the future of the APC and, more importantly, how best to serve Nigerians,” he said.
