Gov. Aiyedatiwa Vows To Serve The People After Sweeping Election Victory

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has expressed gratitude for his victory in Saturday’s governorship election, promising to continue serving the people of the state.

In a statement to the press in Akure, the state capital, after being declared the winner, Aiyedatiwa said, “I thank the people of Ondo for the renewed mandate they have given me to lead beyond 2025, and I promise to serve them diligently.”

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially declared Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the election, having received the highest number of votes.

Aiyedatiwa triumphed over several contenders, including Ajayi Agboola of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olorunfemi Festus of the Labour Party (LP), and Abbas Mimiko of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).

According to INEC’s Returning Officer, Prof. Akinwumi Olayemi Durotimi, Aiyedatiwa secured a total of 366,781 votes, while Agboola garnered 117,845 votes, and LP obtained 1,162 votes.
