Governor Lawal Inaugurates Newly Elected Local Government Chairmen In Zamfara

The swearing-in ceremony, which took place on Sunday afternoon, followed the formal presentation of certificates of return to the newly elected chairmen by the Chairman of the Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission, Bala Aliyu Gusau.
During the ceremony, Governor Lawal praised the state electoral commission for conducting what he termed a “credible, free, and fair election.”
The governor reaffirmed his commitment to local government autonomy, highlighting its importance for promoting effective grassroots development.
He urged the newly sworn-in chairmen to align with his administration’s seven-point agenda, stressing the need for collaboration to achieve meaningful progress in the state.
“I encourage you to form a strong team and work together with my administration to advance the development of Zamfara State, particularly in implementing my seven-point agenda,” Governor Lawal stated.
He also urged the chairmen to stay engaged in their local communities, stating, “I want you to always remain in your respective areas and address the needs of your people.”
Governor Lawal expressed his gratitude to the people of Zamfara for their ongoing support and cooperation with his administration’s efforts to bring about positive change.
“I sincerely thank the people of Zamfara for their continuous support and cooperation as we work towards a prosperous future for the state,” he said. “I promise to do everything in my power to build a new Zamfara that you can all be proud of.”
