Mohammed argued that the APC appointed Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to their administration because they lack individuals with the competence of PDP members. He made these remarks during a visit from the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) on Wednesday.

He expressed concern over the ongoing power struggle between Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, Wike, noting, “We need to close ranks. While this issue is puzzling, it’s not insurmountable; with God’s grace, we will find a solution.”

Mohammed asserted that the challenges faced by the PDP are a result of APC’s actions, saying, “The APC aims to create chaos within our party. They are always trying to place moles within us to monitor our activities.”

He highlighted that despite being in the APC, Wike’s performance is notable and that the APC chose him for his capabilities, which, according to Mohammed, reflects well on the PDP’s talent.

The governor reassured that efforts are being made to unify the party, emphasizing, “We will not compromise the peace and unity of our great party.”
