Numerous allegations circulate, suggesting that the governor is intent on ensuring the success of his favored candidate, Saleh Sa’ad. This maneuver has met with disapproval from aspirants and certain party leaders.

As the clock approaches 3 pm, the election proceedings have not commenced at the Jolly Nyame stadium, and neither aspirants nor party officials are visible at the venue. Notably, Bello Yero, a former Permanent Secretary of the Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, unexpectedly announces his withdrawal from the race. In a press statement released at the venue, Yero attributes his decision to “unfortunate political circumstances” surrounding the primary.
