The governor issued the order during an unscheduled visit to the input distribution centers for the 2025 wheat farming program in Kiyawa and Birninkudu local government areas. The visit followed complaints from farmers accusing Katanga of illegally inflating the fees for farm inputs.

“We received reports of alleged extortion from farmers, and we will not tolerate such actions. Whoever is involved must refund the money taken from farmers,” Governor Namadi said. He directed the police to arrest Katanga, investigate the matter, and ensure the farmers are reimbursed.

Namadi also reassured the farmers that they would receive the full package as outlined by the Federal Government. He expressed concern over the delay and poor distribution arrangements by the agro-dealers tasked with supplying farm inputs to the state’s dry-season wheat farmers.

The governor called on stakeholders to ensure that all registered farmers receive their allocations promptly to allow for timely preparations for the wheat farming season.
