A local resident, speaking to Daily Post, described the traumatic experience: “Everyone fled when the armed bandits began their attack. Later, we discovered that more than 50 women had been taken.” He urged both the federal and state governments to send additional military and security personnel to the region to address the growing threat of banditry.
Zamfara State has been grappling with frequent bandit attacks, leading to kidnappings, raids, and the displacement of many communities. Just days earlier, two explosions rocked the Dansadau District of Maru Local Government Area, marking the third such incident in the area within a week. Reports indicate the blasts occurred simultaneously on the Dansadau-Malamawa road and Malele road on Friday, further escalating the security crisis in the state.
