Chimaobi Atu, the House of Representatives member for Enugu North/South Federal Constituency, has praised the Supreme Court’s recent ruling. The Supreme Court ruled that the Court of Appeal did not have the jurisdiction to declare Abure as the LP national chairman, emphasizing that the matter at hand concerned the party’s internal leadership, which is beyond the courts’ jurisdiction.

The five-man panel also dismissed the cross-appeal filed by Abure’s faction of the LP, deeming it unmeritorious, while accepting the appeal filed by Senator Nenadi Usman and another party member as valid.

In response to the ruling, Atu advised Abure to step aside and take time to care for himself while the party works on rebuilding. He posted on his handle: “Every challenge has an expiring date. It was our ‘Daddy’, Mr. Lamidi Apapa, and now, our ‘dear brother’, Mr. Abure. Mr. former Chairman, Sir, you can now go home and take care of yourself. Allow us to put the pieces together.”
