In an interview on Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’ programme on Wednesday, Sule expressed confidence that the APC will perform exceptionally in the next two years to secure victory in the 2027 election.
Sule emphasized that elections are not solely determined at the federal level, highlighting that state governors play a crucial role in driving performance. This was a key point stressed by President Bola Tinubu during their meeting last December.
He said, “What we achieve in the next two years will shape the future of our party, and I firmly believe we will excel. Once we deliver on our commitments, there’s no reason for the party to fear any merger.”
Sule continued, “With all due respect, I am not intimidated. Performance isn’t just about what happens at the center; it extends to state and local levels.”
“Elections aren’t solely held at the federal level; they take place at state, local government, and unit levels. When you consider the achievements of our governors, fear is unwarranted,” Sule added.
He also pointed out that President Tinubu emphasized the role of governors during their recent meeting, stressing the importance of their leadership in areas like agriculture, skills acquisition, mining, and overall development.
