Tunji-Ojo made this declaration during his keynote address as a Special Guest at a breakfast meeting organized by Business Day in Abuja.
He stressed the need to match words with actions in line with the current administration’s slogan of “Renewed Hope.”
The Minister emphasized that securing the nation’s borders is a top priority and should not be taken lightly. He underscored the significance of border control, stating that any nation that cannot effectively secure its borders will place undue pressure on its military, police, and other security personnel. He also noted that controlling the borders is key to reducing insecurity by a significant margin.
Tunji-Ojo further expressed the integral role of the Ministry of Interior in any nation’s security and emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach to managing borders.
He highlighted the importance of analyzing and regulating the entry and exit of individuals into the country, as failure to do so can lead to security challenges.
