The approval comes in the wake of the successful screening process conducted for the third batch of pensioners situated in the 17 local government councils of the state. The funds are slated to be directly disbursed to the retirees, while payments on behalf of deceased individuals will be made to their next of kin.
The statement emphasized that this financial support is crucial for the well-being of retirees as they embark on their life in retirement. It is worth noting that a similar approval had been granted in November of the preceding year, with an increase in the monthly standing payment of gratuities from N100 million to N200 million. This adjustment aims to encompass a greater number of beneficiaries each month, as reported earlier by DAILY POST.
