Issuing the statement through his Media Office in Abuja, Atiku commended the court’s decision, hailing it as positive news for the citizens of Bauchi, Plateau, Cross River, and Zamfara states, emphasizing that it is a triumph for constitutional democracy. He extended congratulations to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State, representing the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), reiterating his belief that a united opposition is crucial for strengthening democracy in Nigeria.
Atiku, quoting his preparedness, stated, “I am as prepared as ever to lead the charge, alongside all our leaders and governors, for the good of our country.” He applauded the administration of justice, emphasizing that when justice prevails, patriots and citizens will always celebrate.
The PDP presidential candidate asserted that the Supreme Court’s verdict ensures the continuation of the high standards of governance established by the PDP in the respective states. Encouraging the PDP governors – Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Dauda Lawal of Zamfara, Barr. Caleb Muftwang of Plateau, and Pastor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom – Atiku urged them to view the court’s affirmation as an opportunity to consolidate and expand the scope of the good governance they have implemented.
With the conclusion of the electioneering phase, Atiku expressed certainty that the PDP can now concentrate on its role as the major opposition party in the country, led by the party’s capable governors and himself.
