Speaking at the Easter Sunday service in Sampou, Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area, Governor Diri emphasized the limitations of solely relying on palliative measures to address economic woes, advocating instead for sustainable solutions.

The governor highlighted ongoing initiatives aimed at fostering long-term empowerment rather than fleeting assistance. These include the establishment of technical colleges across all eight Local Government Areas to address skills shortages and facilitate skill acquisition. Moreover, infrastructure development projects, such as road construction in remote areas, are underway to bolster socio-economic empowerment.

Governor Diri reiterated that governmental support alone cannot suffice, urging citizens to actively participate in entrepreneurial endeavors. “Government cannot be the sole provider; hence, engaging in business ventures and leveraging skill acquisition programs are essential for personal growth and the state’s development,” he remarked.
