During an address at the Uyo Township Stadium on the occasion of the first anniversary of his inauguration, Eno reflected on his inaugural speech, where he had clearly outlined the goals and direction of his administration. He emphasized that over the past year, all 31 Local Government Areas have benefited from the social safety nets his government has implemented.

“While celebrating our past leaders and their contributions, especially in hard infrastructure, I emphasized the need to focus on soft infrastructure in rural areas,” Eno said. “I pledged to be a champion for those struggling, and today, one year later, our efforts align with the ARISE Agenda’s emphasis on Rural Development. We have launched numerous social safety net initiatives to support families, particularly the poor and vulnerable, in line with our poverty reduction goals.”

Eno highlighted the continuous funding for rural development and the success of the “One Project per Local Government” initiative, which ensures that each local government area feels the impact of his administration. He announced the approval of the next 31 projects under this initiative, which will commence immediately.

“Our ARISE Free Food Voucher/Security program, managed by the Bulk Purchase Agency, has stabilized the food supply chain and improved access to basic food items for poor and vulnerable groups. To date, 208,435 households have benefited from this initiative,” Eno noted.

In addition to social safety nets, Eno’s administration has also focused on fulfilling the promises of the ARISE agenda, which includes goals in agriculture, tourism development, environmental management, women and youth empowerment, and security. He mentioned the creation of the Ibom Community Watch, a neighborhood watch service employing over 5,000 people across the state’s three senatorial districts.
