Governor Eno Commits N450 Million To World Bank Projects In Akwa Ibom

The announcement of this approval was made by Governor Eno during a meeting with a World Bank delegation, led by Mr. Shudham Chaudhury, the Country Director for Nigeria, at the Executive Council Chambers in the Government House, Uyo.

The Governor emphasized his administration’s readiness to collaborate in key areas such as agriculture and rural development, highlighting the alignment of the organization’s vision with his administration’s ARISE Agenda.

He stated, “Many of the programs, as you have rightly observed, are in harmony with our ARISE Agenda. We are willing to collaborate with you to ensure that we continue to enhance and expand where necessary. Currently, agriculture is a pivotal aspect addressed by the ARISE agenda. We can partner with the World Bank to further develop the agricultural potential and ensure food security in the State.”

Furthermore, Governor Eno expressed the state’s commitment to bridging gaps in ongoing projects and exploring additional opportunities for cooperation with the World Bank for the benefit of the people of Akwa Ibom.

He remarked, “This visit has shed significant light on the World Bank projects in Akwa Ibom. I must note that during my five months in office, this is the first comprehensive briefing I’ve received on the World Bank projects we are involved in.”
