The meeting, held at the Government House in Gusau, saw the attendance of key figures from the state’s security agencies.

According to a statement from the Governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, Governor Lawal also inaugurated the steering committee for the Community Protection Guard (CPG).

During the meeting, the council discussed various strategies aimed at addressing the concerning rise in banditry, kidnapping, and other criminal activities within the state.

The statement mentioned, “During the State Security Council meeting, Governor Dauda Lawal lauded the dedication of the security forces, who put their lives on the line to ensure peace in Zamfara.

” Furthermore, the Governor received a comprehensive update on the status of the remaining kidnapped victims and the measures put in place to ensure their safe return.
