Governor Makinde Responds To Rumors Of 2027 Presidential Bid Details

During an interview with the Nigerian Tribune, Makinde, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), dismissed the rumors, stating that his full attention is on his responsibilities as governor.

Addressing speculations about a possible bid for the PDP’s presidential ticket to challenge President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Makinde reiterated that his primary focus is on completing the work he has started in Oyo State.

“My focus at the moment is the significant work entrusted to me by the people of Oyo State. While I’ve made progress, there’s still much more to accomplish,” he stated.

Makinde further clarified that he has no plans to contest for the presidency in 2027, stressing, “I am not aiming for the presidency. My priority remains fulfilling the mandate given to me by the people of Oyo State.
