In a statewide broadcast shared on his X account, Mutfwang revealed that his administration inherited ₦400 billion in debt from the previous government, with no clear evidence of how the funds were utilized. He emphasized that his administration will prioritize building a robust economy for the state’s citizens.

Mutfwang highlighted that the economic difficulties and hunger faced by the nation were due to poor policies of the former administration, stressing that there are no immediate solutions to the current challenges. He reflected on the loss of national dignity and economic decline during the past years, stating that his administration is committed to improving food security, education, and healthcare.

“We cannot pretend there are quick fixes,” Mutfwang said. “The period from 2015 to 2023 was marked by severe economic hardship. We inherited a challenging situation with substantial debt and no visible progress. Our focus now is to ensure that everyone in the state has access to food, education, and healthcare.
