Governor Of Plateau State Dismisses 17 Local Government Transition Chairmen

Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has officially dissolved the 17 Local Government Transition Implementation Committee Chairmen, with the directive taking effect on September 6, 2024.

This decision was disclosed in a statement released on Friday night by the Governor’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, Dr. Gyang Bere. The transition committees were initially established on June 9, 2023, with an initial tenure of six months, but the terms were extended multiple times until the recent dissolution.

In the interim period, the Governor has instructed the Directors of Personnel Management in the 17 local government areas to take charge of the councils’ administration. This arrangement will remain in place until elections scheduled for October 9, 2024, are conducted to fill the vacant positions.

“Governor Mutfwang expressed his gratitude to the Transition Committee Chairmen for their outstanding leadership and dedication to advancing development projects that have positively impacted their communities. He praised their achievements and encouraged them to continue offering their wisdom to foster peace and unity within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Plateau State.”
