Speaking in Calabar at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport, Akpabio expressed the party’s satisfaction with Governor Otu.

He emphasized that his visit to the state is to show support for the governor, acknowledging the numerous electoral and legal triumphs, including the recent reaffirmation of his election by the Appeal Court.

Akpabio underscored his presence to also appreciate the backing of his Senators, particularly Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong, whom he referred to as his younger brother. Senator Ekpenyong’s recent electoral victory was a point of celebration for Akpabio.

Furthermore, Akpabio assured the citizens of Cross River and Akwa Ibom states that the precarious state of road infrastructure, particularly the severely deteriorated Calabar-Uyo federal highway, has been prioritized in the nation’s 2024 budget.

He acknowledged that the deplorable condition of the road significantly impacts both states, affirming the government’s commitment to addressing this issue.
