In a recent meeting with his cabinet, the Governor emphasized that his travels were designed to bring more business opportunities to Cross River, which would, in turn, stimulate the state’s economic growth. A statement issued after the 11th council meeting, signed by Erasmus Ekpang, the state Commissioner for Information, clarified that these international interactions were a deliberate strategy to bolster the state’s economy for the benefit of its citizens.
Otu also took the opportunity to remind his commissioners and aides of the importance of attending state events, even in his absence. He stressed that both he and his Deputy’s presence should not be a prerequisite for attending government functions, warning that any further neglect of this directive would not be tolerated.
The Governor instructed all commissioners to submit detailed reports of their ministries’ activities to the Secretary to the State Government within a week for further evaluation. He reiterated his commitment to holding officials accountable and emphasized that complacency would no longer be accepted under his leadership.
